BARKING FROM WITHOUT

2010, London.
Participatory installation presented at the Cities Methodologies conference 2010 organised by the UCL Urban Lab.

Barking from Without presents the result of fieldwork done in Barking (London) for my doctoral research. The infromation is presented here as an open dialogue and the installation invites visitors to write and leave their own comments that are then added to the growing dialogic field. In the photos shown here factual information and results from research are presented on white cards while comments appear on pink cards. The goal of the exercise was to collect comments from the exterior of Barking in order to analyse them in relation to comments accumulated from within Barking during interviews and fieldwork.
